A Sloped Backyard Transformed Into a Refined, Resort-Style Retreat
This Westminster, MA backyard was designed as a multi-level outdoor living retreat, transforming a sloped property into a functional and inviting landscape built for everyday use and entertaining.
The project features a 1,344 sq. ft. pool deck constructed with Techo-Bloc Blu 60 HD pavers, paired with 97 linear feet of 14-inch Venetian Bluestone coping surrounding an existing fiberglass pool. Together, these materials provide durability, clean lines, and a refined finish underfoot.
Custom retaining walls built with Keystone Victorian Compac segmental block terrace the yard and define key activity areas, including the swim-up bar. A pool house with pavilion extension adds shade, storage, and a natural gathering space.
Layered plantings soften the hardscape and add seasonal texture, while low-voltage LED lighting is integrated throughout the space to extend usability into the evening.
The result is a thoughtfully engineered landscape that balances structure, comfort, and long-term performance.
